If you have a few minutes, take some time and watch this video about the relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy. I found it so inspirational and it was such a good reminder that we should be constantly serving those around us.
I think for me personally, I need to be better at serving those around me. I tend to get so caught up in my own life and my own problems that I forget the importance of helping others - even if it is just by offering a smile or a hug. We are all responsible for one another and helping each other - service is definitely being moved up on my priority list.
It can be overwhelming to try and figure out where you are most needed and where you can be the most good. So start by making a goal to do one small act of service a day, and I truly believe that more and more opportunities will make themselves known.
